I am old-fashioned I guess, but I still use Skype with a headset. I have a nice set, and it works perfectly fine.
My kids, however, just don't seem to think that this is a phone unless they have something that looks like a phone connected to it. Perhaps they are more old-fashioned than I am?
I have searched for good pricing on such phones, and find that they run about $39.95 for something that isn't going to fall apart in a week. From reading the Skype equipment blogs, MANY of them have fallen apart in a week or don't really support the special CODEC required for Skype compatibility.
My friend Paul actually has a nice selection of phones on his site www.packetizer.com
But while surfing the web, I came across a killer blog post that describes how to make a wireless Skype phone from a simple DECT phone - http://www.grynx.com/projects/siemens-skype/
I am planning to try it, why not?
